Spanish novelist and playwright. Name variations: Doña Mariana de Carvajal y Saavedra or Saaveedra; Mariana de Carvajal y Saavedra. Born into the nobility between 1610 and 1620 in Madrid, Spain; died 1680.
Wrote several plays, now lost, and a collection of 8 novellas, Navidades entretenidas (1663).
