Bremer, Lucille (1923–1996)
American dancer and actress. Born Feb 21, 1923, in Amsterdam, NY; died April 16, 1996, in La Jolla, California; m. Abelardo Louis Rodriguez (son of a Mexican president), 1948 (div. 1963).
Began career as a Rockette and Broadway chorine; partnered Fred Astaire in Yolanda and the Thief and Ziegfeld Follies; other films include Till the Clouds Roll By, Adventures of Casanova and Behind Locked Doors; best remembered for her debut role as eldest daughter Rose in Meet Me in St. Louis (1944); retired from screen (1948) and ran a children's dress shop.
