Italian physician who was involved in the recovery and translation of the works of Galen (130-200) into Latin. One of the texts translated by Nicola da Reggio (also known as Nikolaus of Rhegium) was Galen's De temporibus morborum. These translations stimulated interest in classical Greek medical theory and practice.
