Windermere interstadial
Windermere interstadial(Late-Devensian interstadial) A relatively warm period that occurred towards the end of the last (Devensian) glaciation in Britain. The event took place about 13 000–11 000 radiocarbon (see radiocarbon dating) years bp. It includes the Bølling, Older Dryas, and Allerød chronozones of Scandinavia (Britain did not experience the Older Dryas). The pollen sequence shows a sharp rise followed by a marked fall in birch and juniper, marking the beginning and end respectively of the interstadial.
