Pimenta (family Myrtaceae) A genus of small, aromatic, evergreen trees which are functionally dioecious. P. dioica yields pimento or allspice (reminiscent of cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves), made from the dried, unripe fruits. It is exported solely from Jamaica. P. racemosa yields the oil, bay rum. There are 5 species, occurring in tropical America.
