Jatropha
Jatropha (family Euphorbiaceae) A genus of shrubs, a few of which are xerophytes with swollen stems. Male and female flowers are borne in the same panicle. The fruit is a 3-shouldered, leathery, indehiscent capsule. There are about 170 species, occurring in the tropics and subtropics, and in N. America and S. Africa.
