Aṣṭasāhasrikā-Prajñāpāramitā-Sūtra
Aṣṭasāhasrikā-Prajñāpāramitā-Sūtra. Early (c.100 BCE) perfection of wisdom sūtra, ‘The Sūtra of Perfect Wisdom in 8,000 Lines’. It elevates the bodhisattvas as the practitioners of the six perfections (pāramitā), and therefore points the way to the practice of jhāna (meditation).
