taeniasis (tee-ny-ă-sis) n. an infestation with tapeworms of the genus Taenia, resulting from ingestion of raw or undercooked meat containing the larval stage of the parasite. Symptoms include increased appetite, hunger pains, weakness, and weight loss. See also cysticercosis.
