Tae Guk Gi: The Brotherhood of War
Tae Guk Gi: The Brotherhood of War ★★★ 2004 (R)
Two brothers are dragged into the ugly chaos of the Korean War when they're conscripted into the South Korean army after North Korea invades. Elder brother Jin-tae does what he can to protect his promising younger brother Jin-seok from the conflict, but both are swept up in the carnage and blood lust. Graphic and powerful anti-war film that puts the viewer in the center of what for most Americans is a historical footnote. Dizzyingly violent battle scenes may make some queasy. 140m/C DVD . KN Dong-Kun Jang, Won Bin, Lee Eunjoo; D: Kang Jegyu; W: Kang Jegyu; C: Hong Kyung-Pyo; M: Lee Dong-Jun.
