CARIBBEANISM. A usage or custom special to, or common in, the Caribbean and any of the languages of the region, such as sweetmouth for ‘flatterer’ in general CARIBBEAN ENGLISH and poto-poto for ‘slimy’ or ‘muddy’ in Jamaican Creole.
