Born August 21, 1948, in Wales; daughter of Alan (a woodworker) and Jean Margery (a lecturer and teacher; maiden name, Alexander) Hemming; married Bob Starrett; children: Alexandra Grace, Daniel Grace. Education: Attended Llandovery School, Wales; trained as an orthopedic nurse, 1964-68; trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. Politics: Socialist.
