Alaska Aerospace Development orporation Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To provide support to deserving students in laska who want to pursue an education in any campus of the University of Alaska. Focus: Applied mathematics; Physics; Engineering; Business; Technical communications. Qualif.: Applicant must be a freshman student majoring in mathematics, physics, engineering, business, or a technical science field such as computer science who has graduated from the Kodiak Island Borough School District; must be a full-time student enrolled in 14 credits and in good academic standing. Criteria: Candidates will be selected based on their academic standing and application documents.

Funds Avail.: $5,000. To Apply: Applicants must submit a written statement verifying that he/she has not been convicted of a crime other than a minor traffic violation; must complete the application forms available at the website; must attach a personal essay, two letters of recommendation, and current transcripts. Alaska Native Medical Center Auxiliary Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To provide support to deserving students in Alaska who want to pursue an education in any campus of the University of Alaska. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicant must have graduated from a rural Alaska high school that is off the highway system in Alaska; must be a full-time student and in good academic standing with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0. Criteria: Preference will be given to Alaska Natives and/or individuals of Native American descent.

Purpose: To provide support to deserving students in Alaska who want to pursue an education in any campus of the University of Alaska. Focus: Journalism. Qualif.: Applicant must be a junior, senior or graduate journalism student with a minimum GPA of 2.0. Criteria: Preference will be given to applicants from Rural Alaska communities.

Alaska Support Industry Alliance Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To provide financial support for deserving students in Alaska intending to pursue an education in any campus of the University of Alaska. Focus: Resource management, Biology, Wildlife conservation, management, and science, Petroleum engineering. Qualif.: Applicants must be full-time students and Alaska residents who have at least 3.0 GPA majoring in a field that will support the industry growth in Alaska and at the same time showing concern for the environment and how industry is developed. Criteria: Preference will be given to students who are sons or daughters of employees of companies that belong to the Alaska Support Industry Alliance.

the University of Alaska. Focus: Travel and tourism. Qua-lif.: Applicants must be enrolled in programs of study emphasizing travel and tourism. Criteria: Preference will be given to students of Latin American descent.

Qualif.: Applicants must be graduates of Juneau-Douglas High School or Juneau residents who have completed a high school equivalency program. Criteria: Preference will be given to applicants majoring in accounting, business administration, engineering, science and mathematics, related science subjects or foreign languages areas such as Spanish, German or French.

Bolick Foreign Student Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To provide support to deserving students in Alaska who want to pursue an education in any campus of the University of Alaska. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicant must be a full-time student holding exclusive citizenship in another country and attending the university on a student visa. Criteria: Preference will be given to Swedish citizens.

Dr. Betty J. Boyd-Beu & Edwin G. Beu, Jr. Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To provide financial assistance for tuition and other educational expenses to non-traditional students who are seeking degree completion or retraining at the Matanuska-Susitna College. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicant must be a non-traditional student and have graduated from high school; must have worked prior to enrolling or returning to college, thus re-entering college to complete a degree or enrolling to retrain for another position in the workplace; must be in good academic standing with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0; must be formally admitted to a degreeseeking program; must be enrolled in the semester(s) for which the award is made. Criteria:

Selection will be based on their academic performance and application documents.

Charles E. Bunnell Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To provide support to deserving students in Alaska who want to pursue an education in any campus of the University of Alaska. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicants must be full-time students entering his/her junior or senior year with a declared major in an accredited field and have a minimum GPA of 3.2. Criteria: Preference will be given to applicants who graduated from an Alaska high school and have lived in Alaska for 3 or more years.

Funds Avail.: $1,000. To Apply: Applicant must submit an additional paragraph describing how they emulate the ideals of persistence, vision, selfsacrifice, concern for others and love of the North. Patricia Ann Hughes Eastaugh Memorial Teaching Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To provide support to deserving students in Alaska who want to pursue an education in any campus of the University of Alaska. Focus: Teaching. Qualif.: Applicants must be first-time incoming freshman students enrolled in a baccalaureate degree program; must intend to become an elementary or secondary school teacher in Alaska and be enrolled in academic programs leading toward that end; must be an Alaska resident and a graduate of a public or private school in Alaska. Criteria: Preference will be given to student who shows a desire to teach and is in the top 25% of their class.

Funds Avail.: $8,000. To Apply: Applicant must attach an additional statement of 1,000 words or less entitled “Why I Want to become a Teacher of Children in Alaska.” Candidates should also briefly express their opinion of Alaska's educational system(s) and their thoughts on changes they would embrace therein. Excellence in Geographic Information Systems Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To provide support to deserving students in Alaska who want to pursue an education in any campus of the University of Alaska. Focus: Geography. Qualif.: Applicant must be a full-time junior, senior, or graduate student in good standing with a minimum overall cumulative GPA of 2.88 or a major GPA of 3.2; must have declared interest in Geographic Information Systems or Mapping Science and be engaged in a directed or undirected project or class involving Geographic Information Systems during the award period. Qualif.: Applicants must be of Gwich in Athabaskan descent; must have a minimum 2.5 GPA and must enroll for at least six credit hours.
