Kenneth H. Breeden Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To provide financial support to deserving students intending to pursue completion of their programs of study. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicants must have a previous approved for HOPE grant or HOPE Scholarship funding; must be in good academic standing in accordance with college guidelines. Criteria: Awards will be made on a first come, first serve bases. The Lanier Technical College Foundation Scholarship Committee will award the scholarship based upon their normal review procedure, evaluation of the Kenneth H. Breeden Scholarship criteria, and the applicant's academic record if applicable.

Funds Avail.: $500. To Apply: Applicants must submit a Kenneth H. Breeden Scholarship application (available online) along with a letter of recommendation from an advisor or instructor. Application documents must be sent to the Financial Aid Office three weeks prior to registration for the quarter aid is requested.

Forsyth County United Way Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To help students offset their educational costs, specifically with books and supplies and to assist the students who are residents of Forsyth County. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicants must be in good academic standing in accordance with college and Financial Aid guidelines and must be residents of Forsyth County. Criteria: Awards are given on a first come, first serve basis.

The United Way Scholarship Committee will award the scholarship based on the evaluation of the United Way Scholarship criteria which include the applicant's academic record and letters of recommendation.

Funds Avail.: $250. To Apply: Applicant must submit a completed United Way Scholarship Application along with a letter of recommendation from an advisor, instructor or a responsible member of the community capable of reporting applicants' work record, leadership and notable skills. Application and other documentations must be submitted to the Financial Aid Office two weeks prior to registration for the quarter aid is requested.

Lanier Merit Scholarships Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To encourage educational pursuits by providing financial assistance. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicants must be able to demonstrate outstanding achievement. Criteria: Selection will be based on the student achievement in a particular field or overall.

Funds Avail.: No specific amount. To Apply: Applicants must submit a completed scholarship application (available online); a letter of endorsement from instructor or community member; and a copy of high school transcript, GED scores and/or work record.

Lanier Need-Based Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To encourage educational pursuits by providing financial assistance. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Program is open to individuals with financial need. Criteria: Candidates will be selected based on their financial need, instructor or community recommendation, academic progress and attendance.

Funds Avail.: No specific amount. The Lanier Technical College Scholarship Committee will determine selection of the scholarship recipient. To Apply: Applicants must complete the scholarship application form and submit along with an endorsement letter from instructor or community member and a letter of applicant explaining the need for financial assistance.

Edna A. Noblin Dawsonville Lions Club Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To provide financial assistance for deserving students who are residents of Dawson or Lumpkin Counties. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicants must be residents of Dawson County or Lumpkin County. Criteria: Award is given based on the eligibility requirements.

Funds Avail.: No specific amount. To Apply: Applicants must submit a completed scholarship application form; a short letter from applicant explaining the need for financial assistance; a list of specific costs for which the applicants require assistance; and a recommendation letter from faculty member or responsible member of the community capable of reporting applicant's work record, leadership, and notable skills.
