Lakselaget Foundation Scholarships (Graduate, Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To promote the international connections between Norway and Minnesota, and learn, teach and share knowledge that will benefit women in their complex roles in today's society. Focus: Biology; Mathematics and mathematical sciences; Science. Qualif.: Applicant must be female; an American citizen residing in Minnesota, enrolled in undergraduate or graduate studies at an accredited Minnesota college or university or at the University of North Dakota, Grand Forks and wish to study in Norway; or must be a Norwegian citizen attending undergraduate or graduate studies at an accredited Norwegian college or university, who wishes to study at a Minnesota college or university or at the University of North Dakota, Grand Forks. Study areas may include, but are not limited to, non-traditional women's studies such as biotechnology, mathematics, and the sciences. Applicants must be full-time undergraduates who have completed at least one year or full-time graduate students. American students should have a GPA of 3.0 or better, Norwegians the equivalent. Criteria: Award is given to applicant who best exemplifies the organization's motto.

Funds Avail.: $1,000. Number Awarded: Varies. To Apply: Applicant must submit a completed application form with official transcripts, two letters or recommendation, a letter from an individual who can assess the applicant's Norwegian language skills (if an American), and a 1000-word essay.
