Bernard Rotberg Memorial Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To provide financial support for the education of descendants of members of the Jewish War Veterans of the United States of America. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicant must be a direct descendant (child, grandchild, great grandchild) of members in good standing of the Jewish War Veterans of the United States of America. If applicant's relative is deceased, member must have been in good standing at the time of his/her death. Applicant must be a high school senior accepted as a freshman entering in the fall semester by an accredited four-year college or university or a three-year hospital school of nursing; must be in the upper 25% of their high school graduating class; and must demonstrate involvement and leadership in extracurricular activities, in their Jewish community and the community at large. Criteria: Recipients are selected based on College Entrance Examination scores including SAT and/or ACT composite scores and three SAT Achievement (SAT II) scores (one of which should be English).

Funds Avail.: $1,000. To Apply: Applicants must complete all sections of Part I of the Application Form which must be signed by the JWV member related to the applicant and the JWV member's Post Commander. After the signatures are obtained, the applicant should forward Part I and II of the application form to school officials along with a stamped envelope addressed to the appropriate Department Commander. The applicant's school must complete Part II of the application form. Deadline: May 2.
