Description:

Independent, comprehensive, coed, affiliated with Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. Awards bachelor's and master's degrees. Founded 1860. Setting: 100-acre urban campus. Endowment: $34.4 million. Research spending 2003-04: $849,485. Educational spending 2003-04: $6672 per student. Total enrollment: 1,799. Faculty: 176 (109 full-time, 67 part-time). Student-undergrad faculty ratio is 13:1. 1,698 applied, 72% were admitted. 33% from top 10% of their high school class, 66% from top quarter, 81% from top half. 2 National Merit Scholars, 34 valedictorians. Full-time: 1,653 students, 62% women, 38% men. Part-time: 117 students, 56% women, 44% men. Collegiate Environment:
