Persian Language Study in Tehran (Doctorate, Graduate/Fellowship)

Purpose: To help graduate students with advanced learning in Persian studies. Focus: Humanities; Social sciences. Qualif.: Applicants should be U.S. citizens enrolled in a doctoral program in humanities or social sciences; must have an approved research topic that requires use of Persian, and must have completed at least one full academic year of Persian language study. Criteria: Mastery of Persian language study is not required but could be prioritized.

Funds Avail.: Covers the cost of international air travel, tuition, board, and lodging. To Apply: Applications must include a letter-form curriculum vitae, with the following information: citizenship, research plans, level of Persian study attained, academic affiliation, and status. Recommendation letters mentioning the relevance of Persian study to the dissertation should be sent directly to AIIrS. Applications must be sent to [email protected] or mailed to Dr. Erica Ehrenberg. Short-term senior fellowships in Iranian Studies (Doctorate, Graduate/Fellowship)

Purpose: To promote research in the field of Iranian Studies. Focus: Humanities; Social sciences; Interracial studies. Qualif.: Applicants must be U.S. citizens, scholars, faculty members, or museum staff. Criteria: Preference will be given to applicant with knowledge of Persian study and a record of research in the humanities or the social sciences relating to Iran.

Funds Avail.: No specific amount. To Apply: Applicants must submit a curriculum vitae; and a detailed letter explaining how the fellowship would benefit the applicant's work, the names and addresses of the relevant contacts in Iran who have provided permission to research, and the names and e-mail addresses of two referees.
