Servais, Charles (1828–92). Belgian architect, celebrated for his eclectic exoticism, including a series of ‘temples’ he designed for Antwerp Zoo, the best-known of which is the polychrome Egyptian Revival Elephant House (1855), complete with hieroglyphs that tell us about the building.
