Mylne, William Chadwell (1781–1863). Son of Robert Mylne, he gained early experience with his father and in 1811 succeeded him as Surveyor to the New River Company. He laid out the Company's property in Clerkenwell, London, including the pleasant late-Georgian Myddelton Square, and Amwell, Inglebert, River, and Chadwell Streets, begun 1819. In order to raise the tone of the area, St Mark's Church, Myddelton Square, was built, designed by him (1826–8) in a Gothic style of the pre-ecclesiological type.
