ROM optical disk
ROM optical disk (ROM OD) An optical disk carrying information that is inserted at the time of manufacture and cannot subsequently be altered. Manufacture is usually by pressing copies from a master; copies are therefore cheap although the master is expensive. The predominant format is CD-ROM.
