nabothian follicle (nabothian cyst, nabothian gland) (nă-boh-thi-ăn) n. one of a number of retention cysts on the cervix of the uterus. The sacs, which contain mucus, form when the ducts of the glands in the cervix are blocked by a new growth of epithelium over an area damaged because of infection. [ M.
