Rubles, Marisa , Spanish harpist, teacher, and composer; b. Madrid, May 4, 1937. She was educated at the Madrid Cons., graduating in 1953. In 1954 she made her formal debut as soloist with the Orquesta Nacional de España in Madrid. In 1958 she joined the faculty of the Madrid Cons. After making her home in England in 1959, she became well known via television appearances. In 1963 she made her London concert debut, and subsequently appeared as a soloist with orchs. and as a recitalist throughout the world. From 1971 she also was a prof. of harp at the Royal Coll. of Music in London. In 1991 and 1994 she was artistic director of the World Harp Festival
