Rey, Louis-Charles-Joseph

Rey, Louis-Charles-Joseph , French composer and cellist, brother of Jean-Baptiste Rey; b. Lauzerte, Oct. 26, 1738; d. Paris, May 12, 1811. He was trained as a cellist, and was in the orch. of the Paris Opéra from 1767 until 1806; also played in the orch. of the royal chapel (from 1772). He composed some stage pieces and chamber music.
