Popov, Alexander , Bulgarian composer; b. Kolarovgrad, July 14, 1927. He studied composition with Veselin Stoyanov at the Bulgarian State Cons., graduating in 1954. He played viola in the orch. of the National Opera in Sofia, and was a member of the Sofia Soloists chamber ensemble.
