Picka, František, Czech organist, conductor, and composer; b. Strasice, near Horovice, May 12, 1873; d. Prague, Oct. 18,1918. Of a musical family, he received a solid education in Prague and held several posts as a chorus master and opera conductor. His opera, Malίř Reiner (The Painter Reiner), was produced in Prague (April 28,1911). The bulk of his works consists of church music, including 9 masses and many other works in an effective contrapuntal style.
