Naderman, (Jean-) François-Joseph
Naderman, (Jean-) François-Joseph, French harpist and composer, son of Jean-Henri Naderman; b.Paris, 1781; d. there, April 2, 1835. He studied harp with J.B. Krumpholtz. After touring widely as a virtuoso, he was appointed harpist of the royal chapel in 1815. In 1825 he was made the first prof, of harp at the Paris Cons. He publ. Ecole ou Méthode misonnée pour la harpe (Paris, c. 1832). His compositions included many for harp, among them 2 concertos, sonatas, and solo pieces. His études are still played by students. With his brother, Henri Naderman (b. Paris, c. 1780; d. there, after 1835), he carried on his father’s firm.
