Moscona, Nicola

Moscona, Nicola , Greek bass; b. Athens, Sept. 23, 1907; d. Philadelphia, Sept. 17, 1975. He studied at the Athens Cons, with Elena Teodorini. He sang opera in Greece and Eygpt, then was engaged to sing at the Metropolitan Opera in N.Y., making a successful American debut there as Ramfis in Aida (Dec. 13, 1937) and remaining on its roster until 1962. He then went to Philadelphia, where he taught at the Academy of Vocal Arts.
