Morell, Barry
Morell, Barry, American tenor; b. N.Y., March 30, 1927. He received his training in N.Y. On March 26, 1955, he made his first appearance at the N.Y.C. Opera as Pinkerton. He chose that same role for his Metropolitan Opera debut in N.Y. on Nov. 1, 1958, and continued to make occasional appearances there until 1979. As a guest artist, he also sang in Europe and South America. He was best known for his roles in Italian opera.
