Le Roux, Gaspard
Le Roux, Gaspard, eminent French harpsichordist and composer; b. c. 1660; d. probably in Paris, c. 1707. He won great distinction as a harpsichordist. He also publ. the important collection Pièces de clavessin (Paris, 1705; modern ed., N.Y., 1959). Also extant are 3 motets, as well as an air sérieux (Paris, 1701; ed. in La Revue Musicale, V, 1924).
