Krebs, Helmut
Krebs, Helmut, German tenor; b. Dortmund, Oct. 8, 1913. He studied at the Berlin Hochschule für Musik. He made his debut at the Berlin Städtische Oper (1938); then sang with the Düsseldorf Opera (1945–47) and again with the Berlin Städtische Oper. He also sang opera in Hamburg, Munich, Milan, London, Glynde bourne, Edinburgh, and Salzburg; likewise appeared as an oratorio and concert artist. In 1963 he was made a Berlin Kammersänger. He taught at the Frankfurt am Main Hochschule für Musik (1963–75).
