Kopecky, Pavel

Kopecky, Pavel, Czech composer; b. Prague, April 5, 1949. He studied with Dobiâš at the Prague Academy of Arts and Music (1972–77) and with Donatoni in Siena (1976). After pursuing postgraduate studies with Sidelnikov at the Moscow Cons. (1977–79), he joined the faculty of the film academy at the Prague Academy of Arts. His music explores the dynamics of modern compositional trends.
