Kniplová,Naděžda (née Pokorná) (b Ostrava, 1932). Sang with Janáček Opera, Brno, 1959–64, then became prin. at Prague Nat. Th. Salzburg Easter Fest. 1967 (Brünnhilde), summer Fest. 1971 ( Janáček's Glagolitic Mass). Outstanding in strongly dramatic roles, e.g. Smetana's Libuše, Janáček's Emilia Marty and Kostelnička, Isolde, Tosca, Ortrud, and Renata in The Fiery Angel.
