Honauer, Leontzi
Honauer, Leontzi, Alsatian harpsichordist and composer; b. probably in Strasbourg, c. 1730; d. c. 1790. He spent most of his career in the service of Prince Louis de Rohan in Paris. His chamber works with keyboard and his keyboard sonatas proved highly popular. He publ. 2 vols, of harpsichord sonatas (Paris, 1761, 1763), from which Mozart adapted four movements for his own early keyboard concertos. He also publ, a vol. of keyboard sonatas with violin accompaniment (Paris, 1764) and a vol. of quartets for Keyboard, 2 Violins, and Bass with horns ad libitum (Paris, 1770).
