Haase, Hans, German musicologist; b. Neumunster, Schleswig-Holstein, May 12, 1929. He studied with Blume and Albrecht at the Univ. of Kiel (1950–55). From 1954 to 1958 he was an editorial contributor to Die Musik in Geschichte und Gegenwart; also wrote music criticism for newspapers. He publ, the monographs Jobst vom Brandt (Kassel, 1967) and Heinrich Schütz (Wolfenbüttel, 1972), and numerous valuable articles on German composers of the Reformation. He also became interested in applied psychology and lectured on this subject in Zürich and Vienna. He publ. Die harmonikalen Wurzeln der Musik (Vienna, 1969) and Aufsätze zur harmonikalen Naturphilosophie (Graz, 1974).
