Gil-Marchex, Henri

Gil-Marchex, Henri, French pianist; b. st, Georges d’Espérance (Isère), Dec. 16, 1894; d. Paris, Nov. 22, 1970. He studied at the Paris Cons., then with L. Capet and A. Cortot. He toured Europe, Russia, and Japan, and performed modern works at various festivals in Europe. From 1956 he was director of the Cons. at poitiers.
