Delmas, Marc-Jean-Baptiste

Delmas, Marc-Jean-Baptiste , talented French composer; b. St. Quentin, March 28, 1885; d. Paris, Nov. 30, 1931. He was a pupil of Vidal and Leroux, winning the Prix de Rossini (1911), the Grand Prix de Rome (1919), the Chartier Prix for chamber music, the Prix Cressent, and other awards for various compositions. He wrote the books Georges Bizet (Paris, 1930), Gustave Charpentier et le lyrisme frangaise (Coulommiers, 1931), and Massenet, sa vie, ses oeuvres (Paris, 1932).
