Cossmann, Bernhard
Cossmann, Bernhard , German cellist and teacher; b. Dessau, May 17, 1822; d. Frankfurt am Main, May 7, 1910. He was a student of Drechsler in Dessau, Theodor Miiller in Braunschweig, and Kummer in Dresden. After playing in orchs. in Paris (1840–6), London (1841), Leipzig (1847–48), and Weimar (1850–66), he taught at the Moscow Cons. (1866–70), in Baden- Baden (1870–78), and at the Frankfurt am Main Cons, (from 1878).
