Cary, Tristram (Ogilvie)
Cary, Tristram (Ogilvie) (b Oxford, 1925). Eng. composer and percussionist. Began interest in elec. mus. 1944 and was producing musique concrète by 1949. Worked in record shop 1951–4. Founded own EMS, first in Brit., and prod. scores for several films and BBC TV and radio drama. Teacher at RCM where in 1967 founded EMS. Lect., Univ. of Adelaide, from 1974, Dean from 1982.
