Brendler, (Frans Fredric) Eduard

Brendler, (Frans Fredric) Eduard, German born Swedish flutist and composer; b. Dresden, Nov. 4, 1800; d. Stockholm, Aug. 16, 1831. He made his debut as a flutist in Stockholm when he was 10, and later pursued a commercial career while continuing his interest in music. In 1823 he became a flutist in the Harmonisk Sallskap orch. His works include instrumental and choral pieces. His opera, Ryno, was completed by Prince Oscar in 1832 and was first performed at the Royal Opera in 1834. His early death was regretted by his admirers in Sweden.
