Blanter, Matvei (Isaakovich)

Blanter, Matvei (Isaakovich), Russian composer; b. Pochep, Feb. 10, 1903; d. Moscow, Sept. 24, 1990. He was a student of G. Conus in Moscow. Among his works were an operetta, On the Banks of the Amur (1939), incidental music, and songs.
