Bay, Emmanuel
Bay, Emmanuel, Russian pianist; b. Simferopol, Jan. 20, 1891; d. Jerusalem, Dec. 2, 1967. He was a student of Drosdov at the St. Petersburg Cons., graduating with first prize in 1913. After taking a master class with Godowsky in Vienna, he established himself as an excellent accompanist and toured with Zimbalist (1922–29) and Heifetz (1931–51). He also toured with Elman, Milstein, Francescatti, Szigeti, Piatigorsky, Peerce, and Traubel.
