Aguado (y García), Dioniso

Aguado (y García), Dioniso, Spanish guitarist, teacher, and composer; b. Madrid, April 8, 1784; d. there, Dec. 29, 1849. He received training in Madrid. In 1825 he went to Paris, where he was active as a performer, often in concerts with Sor, and as a teacher. In 1838 he returned to Madrid. He publ. Estudio para la guitarra (Madrid, 1820) and Escuela o método de guitarra (Madrid, 1825). He wrote many guitar pieces.
