Addison, Adele

Addison, Adele, black American soprano; b. N.Y., July 24, 1925. She studied at Westminster Choir Coll., Princeton, and the Berkshire Music Center at Tangle-wood, and also took lessons with Povla Frijsh. She made her N.Y. debut at Town Hall in 1952, then sang with the New England Opera and the N.Y.C. Opera; she made numerous appearances with major American orchs. Her extensive repertoire included works extending from the Baroque era to the 20th century
