Peace, Propaganda & the Promised Land
Peace, Propaganda & the Promised Land ★★ 2004
Expose lashing out at the American media's coverage of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Another long-winded attempt at a Michael Moore-style “documentary.” Cites twists on terms, such as “retaliate” when Israel makes a move, but using the word “attack” when describing Palestinian operations. On-camera interviews come from unabashedly biased academics and advocates. Makes some stirring observations, but its lack of humor and tunnel-visioned hoopla will turn off most audiences. Ironically, it falls into the category it sets out to derail: juicy propaganda. 80m/C DVD . USD: Sut Jhally, Bathsheba Ratzkoff; C: Kelli Garner; M: Thom Monahan.
