Career: U.S. Navy, frogman in Navy bomb disposal unit, including service in Vietnam, 1966-71, leaving the service as chief petty officer; Boron Prison Camp, inmate fireman, 1982-85; College of Oceaneering, air diving supervisor, 1985-87; Cousteau Society, expedition leader and chief diver, 1987-93; motivational and drug education speaker and writer, 1993-; special effects stuntperson for films, including Top Gun and Oceans of Fire; American Red Cross, instructor in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR); Dream Machine Foundation, founder and president; also teacher of karate and scuba diving.
