East German speedskater. Name variations: Gabi Schönbrunn or Schoenbrunn. Born Gabi Schönbrunn in East Germany.
Won the Olympic bronze medal in the 3,000 meters (1984 and 1988); won Olympic bronze medal in the 5,000 meters (1988).
Under her maiden name of Schönbrunn, Gabi Zange won the Olympic bronze medal in the 3,000 meters at Sarajevo in 1984. In 1988 in Calgary, she won the bronze in the 3,000 meters and the 5,000 meters, the first time this event was held in the Winter Games. Yvonne Van Gennip of Holland won the gold.
