French actress of stage and film. Born in 1897; died on January 13, 1996, in Paris, France.
Born in 1897, Denise Grey's remarkable show-business career spanned nine decades. She began as a leading can-can dancer in the famous Follies Bergères. By the time she retired, just four years before her death at age 99, she was an actress playing grandmother roles. "I love life," she said shortly after leaving her profession. "I am very happy God has let me stay awhile on Earth."
