Born Christina Marguerite on January 10, 1933, in Schloss Kronberg; daughter of Christopher Ernest, prince of Hesse, and Sophia of Greece (b. 1914); married Andrei or Andrej Karadjordjevic (son of Alexander I, king of Yugoslavia), on August 1, 1956 (divorced 1962); married Robert Floris van Eyck, on December 3, 1962 (divorced 1986); children: (first marriage) Princess Tatiana Maria (b. 1957, who married Gregory Thune-Larsen); Christopher, known as Marko (b. 1960); (second marriage) Helen Sophia van Eyck (b. 1963); Mark Nicholas van Eyck (b. 1966). Andrei's second wife was Kira of Leiningen (b. 1930).
