Australian actress. Born on July 15, 1895, in York, West Australia; died in 1969; sister of actressMarjorie Bennett (1896?–1982); married Fred Niblo (a director).

Enid Bennett was touring with an Australian stage troupe when she arrived in the United States during World War I. Discovered for the screen by Thomas Ince, Bennett starred as Maid Marion opposite Douglas Fairbanks, Sr., in Allan Dwan's Robin Hood (1922); she also appeared in The Sea Hawk with Milton Sills (1924). Her other films include The Battle of Gettysburg (1914), Princess of the Dark (1917), Happiness (1917), The Girl Glory (1917), The Mother Instinct (1917), Naughty, Naughty! (1917), The Marriage Ring (1918), The Biggest Show on Earth (1918), The Vamp (1918), Fuss and Feathers (1918), Happy though Married (1919), The Haunted Bedroom (1919), Stepping Out (1919), Hairpins (1920), Her Husband's Friend (1920), Silk Hosiery (1920), Keeping Up with Lizzie (1921), The Bootlegger's Daughter (1922), The Courtship of Miles Standish (1923), The Fool's Awakening (1924), The Red Lily (1924), A Woman's Heart (1926), The Wrong Mr. Wright (1927), Waterloo Bridge (1931), Intermezzo (1939), and Strike Up the Band (1940). Bennett retired from the screen soon after her marriage to director Fred Niblo. She accompanied her husband to Italy in 1926, assisting him on the filming of Ben-Hur.
