Abramova, Anastasia (b. 1902)
Russian ballerina with the Bolshoi Theater. Born in Russia in 1902; studied with Yekaterina Geltzer and Yekaterina Vazem ; entered the Bolshoi School, 1910, graduated, 1917; trained together with Liubov Bank, Valentina Kudriavtseva , and Nina Podgoretskaya under the direction of Alexander Gorsky and Vassily Tikhomirov at the Bolshoi Theater.
Anastasia Abramova made her debut as Lise in La Fille Mal Gardée (1922) and was known for her Swanilda in Coppélia and Aurora in The Sleeping Beauty. Her Soviet ballets included Jeanne in Flames of Paris, Tao-Hoa in The Red Flower, and Stepmother and Fairy in Cinderella. She retired from the Bolshoi in 1948.
